A. D. 1844 , before me, Charles a Ingerell Clerk of the District
Court of the United States of America for said District, personally appeared

of newHaven
in said District, who was born in Grelands
aged
about Bos years, and on oath did declare, that it was bora fide his intention
to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all alle-
giance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State, and Sovereignty,
whatever-and particularly to victoria, emen
of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,
of whom he is now a subject.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I,
