D. 1848.\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 31st of March in said\nJohn Sherridan of New day 16 aven in year said Country\nappeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and mand\napplication to said Court to become a Citizen appear,\nand this Court having found to their satisfaction\nof that the United the said States John : And upon examination Sherridosa first had, it being made free white to male\nperson of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nthat he is now of the age of\n28\nyears, that he was born in\nRelane\nin said\nKingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti-\ncut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral\nhappiness of the It also John Sherric mudid, good pursuant and\ncharacter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the Unit d States, and well Alisposed to the order\nsame. appearing to this Court that said\nto the laws of the United States, before\nappear the Country\nCourt within and for Newstaven County\non the\n30th day of Moraled\nA. D. 1844. the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare\nthat it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever\nto every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland,\nas by the Records of said Court appear. And the\nsaid John Sherridan\nnow here\nin this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for-\neign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject, and he declares on Qath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer-\nica.\nWherefore the said Therridan is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared\nto be a Citizen of the United States of America.\nSTATE OF CONNECTIOUT\nCOUNTY OF NEW HAVEN:\nss.\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the\n230\nday of march\nSeal, personally appeared;\nbefore the Commission\nA. D. 184\nCourt, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and\nJoseph Senith\naged about\nof Waterbay\nOITIZEN OF THES 0 JITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign\n2/9\nin said County, who was born in England\nyears, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a\nPrince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject.\nIn Testimony Whereof, I, RMC.
