United States of America, State of Connuctitut, 59. At a County Court, holden in and for the County of New Haven, on the 3d Jues day of March A. D. 1848. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 31st of March in said John Sherridan of New day 16 aven in year said Country appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and mand application to said Court to become a Citizen appear, and this Court having found to their satisfaction of that the United the said States John : And upon examination Sherridosa first had, it being made free white to male person of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, that he is now of the age of 28 years, that he was born in Relane in said Kingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti- cut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral happiness of the It also John Sherric mudid, good pursuant and character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the Unit d States, and well Alisposed to the order same. appearing to this Court that said to the laws of the United States, before appear the Country Court within and for Newstaven County on the 30th day of Moraled A. D. 1844. the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as by the Records of said Court appear. And the said John Sherridan now here in this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for- eign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and he declares on Qath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer- ica. Wherefore the said Therridan is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a Citizen of the United States of America. STATE OF CONNECTIOUT COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: ss. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 230 day of march Seal, personally appeared; before the Commission A. D. 184 Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and Joseph Senith aged about of Waterbay OITIZEN OF THES 0 JITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign 2/9 in said County, who was born in England years, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Whereof, I, RMC. Obbar Clerk of said Court, have hercunto set my hand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year aforesaid. R.C.COlour Clerk.
