85 United States of State of Connectiout, 55. At a Buperin Court, holden 2d in and for the County of New Haven, on the Tues day of October A. D. 1848. BE IT REMEMBERED. That on the 14th day of (October in said year Thomas Nolan of Waterbury in sand County appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made application to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States: And upon examination first had, it being made to appear, and this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said I Thomas Nolan is a free white male person of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, that he is now of the age of 30 Ireland years, that he was born in in said Kingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti- eut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral charneter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happin SS of the same. It also appearing to this Court that said Thomas Nolan did, pursuant to the laws of the United States, appear before the dustics Court of the City of Ubudron in th State of New york pard Court within and for the City of New u udson mpth th on the day of Harmany A. D. 1845, the sanie being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Cath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as by the Records of said Court appear. And the said Thomas Nalan now here in this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for- eign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer- ica. Wherefore the said Thomas Nolan is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a Citizen of the United States of America. STATK OF CONNECTIOUT D COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: ss. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the day of April before the Su bscriber clask? Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a A.
