D. 1848.\nBE IT That on the\nREMEMBERED, 13th\nday of October\nin said\nyear James Collins\nof Moeriden in Rand Country\nappeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made\napplication to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States And upon examination first had, it being made to appear,\nand this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said os armes Collins\nis a free white male\nperson of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nthat he is now of the age of\n42\nyears, that he was born\nin buland\nin said\nKingdom, that he has resided in the United States constautly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti-\ncut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral\ncharacter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and\nhappin SS of the same. It also appearing to this Court that said games Callins\ndid, pursuant\nto the laws of the United States, appear before the Country\nCourt\nwithin and for New26 aven County\non the 11\nday of april\nA. D. 1846, the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare\nthat it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever\nto every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland,\nas by the Records of said Court appear. And the said\nJames Collins\nnow here\nin this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for-\neign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Vietoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject, and be also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer-\nica. Wherefore the said\nJames Collins\nis hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared\nto be a Citizen of the United States of America.\nSTATK OB CONNECTIOUT, D )\nss.\nCOUNTY OF NEW HAVEN:\ns\nBE IT REMEMBERED, only 10th\nThat\nbefore the re bescipes cles ko Court. within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a\nday of may\nA.
