D. 1848.\nBE on\nJT REMEMBERED, That the 1st play of November in said year\nappeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made\nPatrick Riley of milford in said counts\napplication to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States; And upon examination first had, it being made to appear,\nPatrick Riley\nis a free white male\nand this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said\nperson of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nKingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti-\n37\nthat he was born in Ireland\nin said\nthat he is now of the age of\nyears,\ncut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral\ncharacter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and\nhappin SS of the same. It also appearing to this Court that said Patrick Riley\ndid, pursuant\nto the laws of the United States, appear before the John of Rice Clerk of the County\nCourt within and for New Hours Counts\non the\n8th\nday of October\nA. D. 1844 , the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare\nthat it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever\nto every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland,\nPatrick Riley\nnow here\nas by the Records of gaid Court appear. And the said\nin this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for-\neign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer-\nica. Wherefore the said Patrick Riley\nis hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared\nto be a Citizen of the United States of America.\nSTATE 05 }\nss.\nCOUNTY OF NEW HAVEN:\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on, the\n11th\nday of October\nA. D. 184 8\n,\nof the Country\nbefore the me himing Lains Clerk Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a\nSeal, personally appeared,\nChangy Reid\nof Waterbury\nin said County, who was born in\nIreland\naged about\n28\nyears, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a\nOF THE 0 NITED STATES and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign\nPrince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject.\nIn Testimony Whereof,\nI, Henry 14. drum\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year aforesaid.\nvery CG.
