D. 1848.\nBE IT REMEMBERED. That on the\n4th of November in said year\nday\nEdward Asandy of New He aven in said Country\nappeared before gaid Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made\napplication to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States: And upon examination first had, it being made to appear,\nand this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said\nEdward Gafney\nis a free white male\nperson of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\n26\nthat he was born in Ireland\nthat he is now of the age of\nyears,\nin said\nKingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti-\ncut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral\ncharacter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and\nhappiness of the same. It also appearing to this Court that said Edward Gafney\ndid, pursuant\n10 the laws of the United States, appear before the Charles a engersone Clerk of the u S.\ndistrict\nCourt within and for the District of Connectent\non the\n30th\nday\nof October\nA. D. 1844, the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare\nthat it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever\nto every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland,\nas by the Records of said Court appear. And the said E dward batney\nnow here\nin this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for-\neign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer-\nica.\nWherefore the said Edward Isafinly\nis hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared\nto be a Citizen of the United States of America.\nSTATK OF CONNECTIOUT,\nss.\nCOUNTY OF NEW HAVEN:\nBE\nIT REMEMBERED, That on, Curkop the the County 21 ct day of December\nA. D. 184 8\n.\nbefore the me Henry Q Savis Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a\nSeal, personally appeared,\nFrancis mullin\nof\nNew Hunver\nin said County, who born in Ireland\nwas\naged about\n24\nyears, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a\nOF THE NITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign\nPrince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject.\nIn Testimony Whereof, I,\nHenry 04, limis\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year aforesaid.\nKenry\nClerk."
