D. 1844. the BE IT REMEMBERED, day of October in said year James That 16 on iggins the of New to aver in said County appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made application to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States: And upon examination first had, it being made to appear, and this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said James 'll aggents is a free white male person of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, 36 Ireland years, that he was born in in said that he is now of the age of Kingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti- eut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the Unit ed States, and well disposed to the good order and happin SS of the same. It also appearing to this Court that, said important 16 eggius did, pursuant to the laws of the United States, appear before the Justices Court Court within and for the City of albany in the State fine October york on the 3/20 day of A. D. 1840, the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as by the Records of said Court appear. And the said James U issius now here in this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for- eign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and hejalso declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer- ica. Wherefore the said 16 issues is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a Citizen of the United States of America. STATE OF CONNETTOUT ss. COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: BE IT REMEMBERED, on day of December A. D. 184 g before the due He buy G. Marii Court, and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with Clerk and a within a Seal, personally appeared, of Waterbary Patrick "OD Read in said County, who was born in bulend aged about 25 years, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a OILIZIEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Whereof, I, Venuy Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year aforesaid. 26 my 4. thand Clerk.
