D. 1846\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the\n30\nday of llele\nin said year\nJohn Bowen\nappeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made\napplication to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States: And upon examination first had, it being made to appear,\nand this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said John Bowen\nis a free white male\nperson\nof the age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nIuland\nthat he is now of the age of\n25\nyears, that he was born in\nin said\nKingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti-\neut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral\nhappiness of the same. It also appearing to this Court that said John Bowen\ncharacter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and\ndid, pursuant\nto the laws of the United States, appear before the County\nCourt within and for Newtown cors\non the 30\nday of Much\nA. D. 1844 , the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare\nthat it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever\nto every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland,\nthe Records of said Court And the said John Brown\nas\nby\nappear.\nnow here\nin this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for-\neign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer-\nica. Wherefore the said Lorm Bowen\nis hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared\nto be a Citizen of the United States of America.\nSTATE OF CONNECTIOUT D\nss.\nCOUNTY OF NEW HAVEN:\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the\n11\nday of July\nA.\nbefore the Special County Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a\nSeal, personally appeared, James Idonee\nof N Haven\nin said County, who was born in England\naged about\n37\nyears, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a\nOILIZIEN OF UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign\nPrince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject.\nIn Testimony Whereof, I,\nJohn . Reir\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand and the Seal of said the and\nCourt, day year aforesaid. toun\nClerk."
