Winited States of America, state of Connectitut, 59. At a County Court, holden in and for the County of New Haven, on the 3d Jues day of March A. D. 1848. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 28 the day of Mearch in said year CharlesJohn Brassill of New u aven in 2aid County appedred before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, Clerk and a Seal, and made application to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States/: And upon examination first had, it being made to appear, and this to Court having found their satisfaction that the said John Brassill is a free white male person of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, that he is now of the age of 23 years, that he was born in Presand in said Kingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti- eut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the It also appearing this Court that said same. to did. to the tassoof the United States oppear before the arrive in the united States before attaining the age of 18 years. and that he has continued to resule therein thence hitherto and he now here been and now is on oath declares that for three years last past it has Court within and ion ott the day of A.D.18 the some being + Court of-Reoord with Common Law Jurisdiction Clerk and a Seat and on Dath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as by the Records of said Court appear. And the said John A now here in this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for- eign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is subject, and lie also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer- ica. Wherefore now a the said is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a Citizen of the United States of America. STATE OF CONNECTIOUT, ss. COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 13th day of november A. D. 184 6 County before the of the Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and 1 Seal, personally appeared, Patrick Qualy of Offord in said County, who was born in Ireland aged about 30 years, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a OTTIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Whereof, I, Rife Obbern Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year aforesaid. R.H. Dobom Clerk.
