    "ocrText": "United States of America, State of Connecticut, 55.\n22ba\nAt a Superior Court, holden in and for the County of New Haven, on the first Tuesday of\nMarch, A. D. 1874.\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the\n25th\nday of March, in said year,\nAnton Balles,\nNew Baven,\nof\nin said county, appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with common Law Juris-\ndietion, a Clerk and a Seal, and made application to said Court, to become a citizen of the United States:\nAnd\nupon examination first had, it being made to appear, and this Court having found to their satisfaction,\nthat the said applicant is a free white male person of lawful age, an alien, and a subject of\nWilliam, Emperor of Germany that he is now of the age of\n37\nyears; that he was born\nin hermany\nimpire; that he has resided in the\nUnited States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecticut for more\nthan\none year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good\nmoral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well dis-\nposed to the good order and happiness of the same. It also appearing to this Court, that said applicant\ndid, pursuant to the laws of the appear\nUnited States, before the Clerk of this Superior\nCourt within and for New Haven County\non the\n3\nday of November, A. D. 1870, the same being a Court of Record with\ncommon Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention\nto become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every Foreign\nPrince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nWilliam, Emperor of Germany, as by the Record of said Court appears. And the said applicant now here\nin this Court, declares on oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and\nfidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nWilliam, Emperor of Germany, of whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will sup-\nport the Constitution of the United States of America.\nWherefore, the said applicant is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared, to be a citizen of the\nUnited States of America."
