Be it Remembered
That John A. Bergen
of how London in the County of new fordon
but late of the Kingdom of Swiden
appeared before
the Court of Common Pleas for said County of New London, at new London
in said County, on the thirtith
day of september in
the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine the said Court being a Court of
Record, having common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal, and declared on oath that it
was
bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance
and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to the
Government of Suiden
State of Conneetieut County/of New London, SS.

of the Court of Common Pleas for said County of New London, do hereby
certify that the foregoing is a true copy of Record.
