United States of America, State of Connectiont, S3. 113 At a Superior Court, holden in and for the County of New Haven, on the First Tuesday of Mearch A. D. 1873 BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 24th day of Mearch in said year, James Lobey of Cheshire in said county, appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made application to said Court, to become a citizen of the United States: And upon examina- tion first had, it being made to appear, and this Court having found to their satisfaction, that the said applicant is a free white male person of lawful age, an alien, and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, that he is now of the age of 42 born in England years; that he was in said Kingdom ; that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecticut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. It Assistant bleck this also appearing to this Court, that said applicant did, pursuant to the laws of the United States, appear before the Court within and for New Haven County on the 11th day of chearch A. D. 187/ , the same being a Court of Record with common Law Juris- diction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sover- eignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as by the Record of said Court appears. And the said appli- cant now here in this Court, declares on oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of America. Wherefore the said applicant is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared, to be a citizen of the United States of America.
