    "ocrText": "SUPREME HEADQUARTERS\nALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE\nSoldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!\nYou are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward\nwhich we have striven these many months. The eyes of\nthe world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-\nloving people everywhere march with you. In company with\nour brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts,\nyou will bring about the destruction of the German war\nmachine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed\npeoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free\nworld.\nYour task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well\ntrained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will\nfight savagely.\nBut this is the year 1944 ! Much has happened since the\nNazi triumphs of I940-41. The United Nations have in-\nflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle,\nman-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced\ntheir strength in the air and their capacity to wage\nwar on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an\noverwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of\nwar, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained\nfighting men. The tide has turned ! The free men of the\nworld are marching together to Victory !\nI have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty\nand skill in battle.
