Dear Eisanhower:
You are undoubtedly awars 01 the supreme impor-
tance which the War Department attaches to intelligence
known as "ultra". This intelligence is secured by the
British Iron reading Cernan enciphered radio communica-
tions.
The attached Tab seta forth the basis uoon which
German "Ultra" intelligence 13 made available to American
field commands. Please give this matter your personal
attention, and take all necessary steps to insure that
the security regulations governing the a1332rination of
"Ultra" intelligence are meticulously observed. Tha
arrangementa described in the attached Tab ara to be fully
carried out.
