Truman, H.
THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
April 13, 9951
Dear lirs. Roosevelt:
I highly appreciate your ldnd message
of commendation and approval of the course I
took. It certainly was with the deepest per-
sonal regret that I found =yself compelled to
replace General MacArthur, but the cause of
world peace is of major importance and there
must be no doubt or confusion as to our policy
in the Far East.
thanks and good wishesl
Very sincerely yours,
Hary Human
lirs. Franklin D. Roosevelt,
Val-Kill Cottage,
Hyde Park,
New York.
