Writes to the President to the effect that a short while ago he happened to pick
up an old American silver Beaker, made about 1700 by a certain Anthony Isaac of New-
port, R.I. Says he thought of the President's lovely collections, and is hoping that
the President will care to accept it as a souvenir and a small token of gratitude
for all the kindness ant President has shown to him. -- On 10/8/42 the President wrote
to King George stating that on his return from a trip to the Pacific Coast, he found
King George's letter and "that wonderful old American silver cup." Comments on the
lovely design of the cup and states he is placing it with one or two other old pieces
of silver of the same period. President refers to Princess Martha's (of Norway) visit,
stating that she and the children are back at Ppok's Hill. States that Princess Martha
has accepted a new subchaser at the Navy Yard here just before the President went away,
