Writes the President, enclosing gold coin, which he asks be accepted as a pocket
piece. Believe the President's recent trip to Michigan climaxed the campaign.
-- The President replied on Oct. 26 that he is really touched by his letter and
by his generous kindness in desiring him to accept as a pocket piece the gold
coin which accompanied it. Indicates that he cannot accept a gift of such value,
but wants him to know that he is very. very grateful for the thought which prompted
him to send it. Coin was returned with letter.

My dear Mr. Bresident:
It has been a long time since Inhave troubled you, but
I had to send you a ham, like I did October 3at., 1933, so
you can celebrate your re-election on the 4th. Now if you
remember, I predicted when you spke in Atlanta in 1938, for
Al Smith, that you would be the next nominee, and would be
elected by the big gest majority any President ever received.
There in no doubt in my mind that you will be re-elected
by a larger majority even that you received before, and
will carry 40 States. A President who has saved this country
from a revolution, saved the banks, railroads, insurance
companies, kept people from starving, kept their homes from
being confiscated, cannot be beat.
When you come to your Georgia home, I've got a bunch
of Quail waiting for you. Hoping you will re-elected by
a very large majority, and that I will have the pleasure of
seeing you at Warm STRINGS, and that you will enjoy this
small sweet ham that I am sending, on November the 4th.,
I am,

Dear Sir:
About two weeks ago, I had occasion to
discuss with your cousin, Mr. Labusohr, the enclosed
composite picture of our president, Franklin Delano
Roosevelt and in accordance with his suggestion, I am
forwarding the same to you and trust you will be good
enough to present the same to our president, with the
sincere best wishes of the writer.
In my opinion, the composite picture is
both unique, odd and a self-serving declaration of
our president's ability and character, both as a man
and chief executive of our country. By this time the
people of our nation have voiced their confidence in
Franklin Delano Roosevelt, by their overwhelming vote
in his favor, indicating their confidence and trust,
based upon his past performances.
I trust that the enclosed sketch meets with
your personal approval and incidently, I desire that
you bear in mind that this sketch was not created nor
intended in any sense of flattery or for publicity
purposes, but on the contrary, represents the conscienti-
ous reflections of the writer, who is a co-originator
of the same.
In closing, kindly accept my deep apprec-
iation for your cooperation in placing this picture in
our president's hands or calling the same to his atten-
tion and with kindest regards both from myself and
Mr. Labusohr, permit me to remain,
Very truly yours,

Dear Mr. President:-
The girls of our special sewing group have requested
that I act as their spokesman in extending greetings and good
wishes for a most successful administration during the coming
four years.
Under separate cover I am sending a picture of the
girls. They are, from left to right:- Lillian Donner, Olga
Klasanovich, Florence Mayte, Helen Currie, Kathryn Butke,
Opal Mace, Margaret Smith, Helen Sherbarth, Thelma Black and
Marie Turner.
Every one of the young women are victims of infantile
paralysis, most of them fearfully handicapped. But that handi-
cap has not dimmed their smile nor sapped their courage. They
ask only the opportunity to work. We are happy to be able to
provide, in an humble way, such an opportunity. Here, in a
comfortable and pleasant workroom, the girls make a variety of
new products, the sale of which help to provide the revenue
with which we carry on. Please accept from the girls, a tie
for yourself and a luncheon set for Mrs. Roosevelt. Each one
of the girls had a part in the making of them.
Permit me to take this opportunity of extending sincere
congratulations, in which mother joins, upon your glorious vic-
tory. Mother has been especially interested in your achieve-
ments. She was born in Poughkeepsie and often recalls the ex-
periences of years ago when, as a young girl, in the company of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor and their two sons, Robert and Douglas,
the latter for whom I am named, she often met your parents.
With every good wish, believe me,
Cordially yours,

Dear Mr. President:
I believe that the year 1937
will bring back the NRA again, as soon as you
go into office for President a second term.
I have designed a new NRA poster and instead of
having a blue eagle I have made it a gold one in
your honor, to be President for a second term.
In your first four years as Bresident your NRA
poster read "We Do Our Part", and your next
four years it will read "We Did Our Part and
We'll Do It Again".
Uncle Sam represents the nation forging ahead
inspiring the people with good faith..
I believe that is all I have to say as the poster
is self explanatory in every detail and I hope
that you will like it ,and will consider myself
very fortunate if you choose to use it.
May I thank you in advance whether you use it or not.
Hope to hear from you real soon and
sincerely hope to have the letter signed by you
Mr. President to keep for a memory.
