Disabled American of the Year; Dr. Stanley K. Yarnell, Health
Care Professional of the Year; and five employers of the Year:
Mr. Elwood Blanchard, Vice Chairman, E.I. duPont; Rear Admiral R.
K. Chambers, US Navy; Mr. John Yeh, President, Integrated
Microcomputer Systems; Mr. Cyrus Brooks, City Manager of Wilson,
South Carolina; Mr. Patrick Brown, General Manager, Red Lobster;
Mr. Edward Rensi, President and Chief Operating Officer,
McDonald's USA; Ms. Patricia Neal, Actress; and Mr. William
Edwards, Jr., General Manager, Washington Hilton Hotel.
Following the greetings, THE PRESIDENT, accompanied by Mr. Dart,
proceeds to Holding Room. THE PRESIDENT, accompanied by Mr.
Dart, departs Holding Room and proceeds to the Off-Stage
Announcement Area. THE PRESIDENT, accompanied by Mr. Dart,
arrives Off-Stage Announcement Area and holds briefly. THE
PRESIDENT, accompanied by Mr. Dart, is announced onto Stage to
Honors by the United State Air Force Band, and proceeds to Seat.
Mr. Dart will proceed to the table microphone and will introduce
THE PRESIDENT for Brief Remarks. (NOTE: Mr. Dart will be in a
wheelchair.) THE PRESIDENT gives Brief Remarks. Upon conclusion
of Brief Remarks, THE PRESIDENT will present The President's
Trophy to Mr. David Schwartzkop, Disabled American of the Year.
Upon conclusion of the Presentation, THE PRESIDENT departs Stage
(Stage Right), and proceeds to the Holding Room. After a brief
hold, THE PRESIDENT proceeds to the Motorcade for departure from
the Washington Hilton Hotel en route White House.
The backdrop will be beige curtains with the Presidential and
United States flags.
