MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT:
President's National Security Briefing
The following subjects were discussed:
--
The President indicated that he had heard from his friend
Bill Draper that Costa Rican President Arias would like to
come by the White House and meet with the President on
either April 6th or 11th. Scowcroft to follow-up.
--
The President asked for an update on Iranian assets in this
country.
3.3(b)(1)
3.3(b)(1)
--
The question of attendance at NSC meetings. The President
indicated that on most, especially on
3.3(b)(1)
3.3(b)(1)
sensitive topics, he wanted them kept as small as
possible. He agreed to Marlin Fitzwater's participation in
meetings that do not involve sensitive subjects. The Vice
President raised the question of his national security
adviser's attendance and the same ground rule was discussed
-- that is, that in meetings where other principals are
allowed to bring someone, his adviser would be allowed to
attend.

MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT:
President's National Security Briefing
The following subjects were discussed:
--
The President indicated that he had heard from his friend
Bill Draper that Costa Rican President Arias would like to
come by the White House and meet with the President on
either April 6th or 11th. Scowcroft to follow-up.
--
The President asked for an update on Iranian assets in this
country.
3.3(b)(1)
3.3(b)(1)
--
The question of attendance at NSC meetings. The President
indicated that on most, especially on
3.3(b)(1)
3.3(b)(1)
sensitive topics, he wanted them kept as small as
possible. He agreed to Marlin Fitzwater's participation in
meetings that do not involve sensitive subjects. The Vice
President raised the question of his national security
adviser's attendance and the same ground rule was discussed
-- that is, that in meetings where other principals are
allowed to bring someone, his adviser would be allowed to
attend.
