Department of Internal Medicine
The interests of clinical faculty members of the Department of Internal Medicine
represent the broad and diversified research and educational activities of the
department. Subspecialty interests of individual physicians include lipid metabolism,
myocardial biology, immunology, clinical pharmacology, arteriosclerosis, coronary
artery disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, chronic lung disorders, and illnesses
which cause the loss of renal function. Extensive continuing education programs are
presented both at Baylor and at its affiliated hospitals to update knowledge as well as
to impart information gleaned from the many clinically-oriented research projects,
which investigate common clinical disorders.
