Dear Dr. Christopher:
Thank you for your letter of August 20 informing me that I have been selected to
receive the 1992 Distinguished Public Service Award of the American Academy of
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. I feel deeply honored even to be
considered for such recognition, and I accept with pleasure. Members of the
Academy worked long and hard to create the National Center for Medical
Rehabilitation Research at the National Institutes of Health. I feel confident that
the results will repay the investment many times over and am flattered to think
that my efforts might have helped.
I will await contact from Mr. Henrichs regarding the award presentation and
look forward to joining you and your colleagues in San Francisco in November
during your annual convention.
Sincerely yours,
William+ Rout
