Good Morning. Its a pleasure to be with you today to
celebrate this milestone for the Service Corps of Retired
Executives. On your 25th Anniversary, let me tell you how much I
appreciate the work you have done and will continue to do through
SCORE.
In these last 25 years, the men and women of SCORE have
grown from just a few volunteers to a force of 13,000. SCORE has
counseled and trained more than 3 million small business owners.
In countless cases, you have made the difference between a small
business success, and a small business failure.
I don't need to tell you how important small businesses are
to our country's economic prosperity, and to our future. If you
didn't share my conviction about the importance of small
businesses, you'd probably be spending your retirement in more
leisurely pursuits.
Instead, you and your predecessors in SCORE, volunteer your
time and energy to pass along your knowledge and lifetimes of
experience from your own careers. The entrepreneurs of today and
tomorrow will continue to count on your help and willingness to
share it freely.
On behalf of the American people, thank you and
