BRIEF CLOSING REMARKS AFTER RODEO
AT THE ECONOMIC SUMMIT
Attached for your review are brief closing comments after
the rodeo and Grand Ole Opry performance on Sunday evening, July
8th. The heads of state will join you for a small barbeque
first, then the rodeo and entertainment follow before a crowd of
5,000. The remarks (cards / 3 minutes) thank the cowboys, the
country music singers, and the people of Houston.

the town. But he kept saying, "You know, everything's bigger and
better in Texas."
So one night, exasperated, his host slipped a lobster into
the Texan's bed. When the good ol' boy pulled down the covers,
he gasped and yelled out, "What in the world is that?"
"That's a Kennebunkport bed bug," replied the host.
"Oh," said the Texan as he took a good look at the lobster.
11 Then he added, "It's a young'un, ain't it?" 11
So I guess things are bigger and better here. And it's a
pleasure for Barbara and I to give a big thank you to our
hometown, the great city of Houston, Texas. 111 This evening
would not have been possible without that famous Houstonian
hospitality and the hard work of so many people here. Barbara
and I have had many happy years in this wonderful town, and so,
to our old friends as well as our new friends -- we say thanks to
all of you. God bless you and good night.

I hope you enjoyed our Texas rodeo. We've got some rodeo
greats here tonight -- (name) and (name) -- to show you our idea
of a good time here in Texas. You know, there's a story I heard
up in Kennebunkport, where we have our vacation home. It's about
the Texan who came to visit, and was given a guided tour of the
2
town.
\\ Then he added, "It's a young'un, ain't it?" \\
So I guess things are bigger and better here. And it's a
pleasure for Barbara and I to give a big thank you to our
hometown, the great city of Houston, Texas. \\\ This evening
would not have been possible without that famous Houstonian
hospitality and the hard work of so many people here. Barbara
and I have had many happy years in this wonderful town, and so,
to our old friends as well as our new friends -- we say thanks to
all of you. God bless you and good night.
