We've got some rodeo greats here tonight -- (name) and (name) -- to show you our idea of a good time here in Texas. You know, there's a story I heard up in Kennebunkport, where we have our vacation home. It's about the Texan who came to visit, and was given a guided tour of the 2 town. But he kept saying, "You know, everything's bigger and better in Texas." So one night, exasperated, his host slipped a lobster into the Texan's bed. When the good ol' boy pulled down the covers, he gasped and yelled out, "What in the world is that?" "That's a Kennebunkport bed bug," replied the host. "Oh," said the Texan as he took a good look at the lobster. 11 Then he added, "It's a young'un, ain't it?" \\ So I guess things are bigger and better here. And it's a pleasure for Barbara and I to give a big thank you to our hometown, the great city of Houston, Texas. \\\ This evening would not have been possible without that famous Houstonian hospitality and the hard work of so many people here. Barbara and I have had many happy years in this wonderful town, and so, to our old friends as well as our new friends -- we say thanks to all of you. God bless you and good night. # # # NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL TIME STAMPECEIVED EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT STAFFING DOCUMENT 90 JUL 3 A8, 18 SYSTEM LOG NUMBER: 5329 ACTION OFFICER: RODMAN DUE: 3:00PM, 3 JUL Prepare Memo For Scowcroft/Gates Appropriate Action Prepare Memo For Cicconi Prepare Memo for Sittm URGENT Prepare Memo SCOWCROFT to WINSTON W/ INFO CICCONI CONCURRENCES/COMMENTS* PHONE* to action officer at ext. 6907 FYI FYI FYI Barth Johnson Pryce Basora Kaeuper Rademaker Beers Kanter Rice Blackwill Kitchen Rodman Broome LaMagna Rostow Burns Lampley Salvetti Chamberlin Levin Tilley Charles Lundsager Tobey Coulson Mandel Van Eron Davis X Melby concurs Watson Deal concurs Menan Welch Dorminey Merchant Whitley Dyke Miller Wilson Fry Needels Working Gaughan O'Leary Zelikow Gordon Ordway Haass Paal Hayden Pacelli Hutchings Pilling Jackson X Popadiuk INFORMATION Sittmann Deputy Exec.
