MEMORANDUM FOR STEVE PROVOST
CHRISTINA MARTIN
FROM:
CAROL AARHUS
SUBJECT:
AUBURN HILLS, MICHIGAN
This event will take place at The Palace (the arena where
the Detroit Pistons play) at 2 p.m.. The Palace is next to the
Silverdome (where the Detroit Lions play). On Sunday, the
Detroit Lions (record: 2-5) play the Green Bay Packers (record:
2-5).
An audience of 8-10,000 white suburbanites is expected. Just
outside Auburn Hills, a farmer (Bruce Haley) carved the word BUSH
in his soybean crop. The letters are 100 feet tall and the whole
word is 433 feet long. They are planning to arrange for AFOne
to do a fly-by so that POTUS (and you guys) can see it.
POTUS was just in the Detroit area, where he visited the
Henry Ford Museum. He taped Prime Time Live and CBS This Morning
there. Maybe a joke about old cars and old Democrat ideals?
Acknowledgements:

Pertinent Campaign issues: NAFTA, CAFE, taxes.
Important: This is a request of the Governor and the BQ State
office: At the end of the speech, thank the volunteers and ask
them to work doubly hard over the next two days in their "get out
the vote" phone calls. They will be making more than one million
phone calls on their 4,000 phone lines.
NOTE: The headlines in the Detroit Free Press today read: Iran-
