Dear Mr. Snow:
I am writing to invite you to participate in a panel discussion at the Fifth
Annual AIA Speechwriters Roundtable, scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, at The
Grand Hyatt (10th and H Street, N.W.).
We bring together AIA member company speechwriters each year to discuss
topics of common interest. This year we will focus on issues such as the international
competitiveness and financial health of the U.S. aerospace industry as well as common
speech themes for the industry in 1992.
We would ask you to join us at 10:00 a.m. for an informal panel discussion
with James McCulla, Director, Media Services, NASA, and a DoD speechwriter.
Fifteen to 20 minutes of comments by each panelist, followed by open discussion and
a questions and answer peroid, would be ideal. We are interested in hearing about the
administrations key issues and themes for 1992. We would also be interested in
hearing some of the challenges you have encountered in writing speeches for the
President.
Past panel participants include Mark Davis, The White House, Jeff Salmon,
DoD, and James McCulla, NASA.
Your audience would number 25-30. I have enclosed the 1990 AIA Annual
Report, AIA Newsletter, Key Speeches, and a brochure which will tell you about AIA.

We would also be pleased if you would join us for lunch, following the panel
session. We have invited Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R -Ca), a former White House
speechwriter, to be our luncheon speaker.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions. I hope you will be
able to join us on December 10.
Sincerely,
Herbert E. Hetu
