organizations.
II. BACKGROUND:
A. MESSAGE FOR ALABAMA BLUE-GRAY FOOTBALL GAME: This
message will be played during the 52nd Blue-Gray Football
Classic. Your comments, which will be broadcast nationally
on ABC TV, will congratulate the players and coaches of
both teams, and salute the organizers of the Classic for
their efforts.
B. MESSAGE FOR THE SOVIET UNION: This message will be
played over Soviet television on Christmas Day. Your
message will wish all the Soviet viewers a happy
holiday, and applaud the new Soviet-American
relationship. President Gorbachev is also preparing a
Christmas greeting to be broadcast in the United
States.
C. MESSAGE FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY: This holiday
greeting will be released to the four networks for
broadcast during the Christmas season. You will offer
everyone a safe, peaceful, and happy holiday.
D. MESSAGE FOR THE NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS: This message
will congratulate the Governor-elect and Lt. Governor-Elect
of the Northern Mariana Islands as their administration
prepares to take office.

The meeting will provide you an opportunity to visit with
your speechwriters.
