The economy is diversified with such companies as RCA, Whirlpool, Eastman Kodak, Dow Chemical and Remington Arms represented. The town is headquarters for Marathon Oil Company. Findley is located in a predominantly rural area in Ohio's 4th Congressional district, which is represented by second-term Republican Tennyson Guyer. Guyer, who was born and educated in Findley, is a former minister (Church of God) and public relations man for a tire company. The area is generally considered a conservative Republican stronghold. The townspeople have dubbed Findley "Flag City U.S.A." The reason is that a local citizen stirred up interest in displaying flags on memorial day.
