Philippine Liberation Ribbon - Authorization to
wear.
Reference:
(a) AlNav 64-45.
1.
You are hereby informed that you are authorized
by reference (a) to wear the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with
two bronze stars. This authorization is in recognition of your
having been:
(a)
A member of the crew of this vessel between 17
and 20 October 1944 (inclusive), during which time the U.S.S.
MONTEREY provided support for the Leyte landings.
(b)
A member of the crew of this vessel on 19 Nov-
enber 1944, on which date the U.S.S. MONTEREY was engaged with
enemy aircraft.
(c) In the area as described in reference (a) for a
period of at least thirty (30) days.

A copy of this letter will be forwarded to the
Bureau of Naval Personnel for inclusion in your file jacket.
