TUESDAY, September 23, 1975 9:15 a.m. Mr. Cannon's Office Alaskan Arctic Gas Study Company Washington Office: Suite 230, 1730 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W. Washington, D.C. 20006 (202) James R. Lowe, Jr.. Assistant General Counsel September 2, 1975 Mr. Michael Duval Associate Director The Domestic Council Room 216 The White House Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. Duval: I am writing to confirm our telephone conversation relative to our desire to meet with Messrs. Cannon and Dunham. We believe it would be productive to meet with them, together or separately, as you see fit, to personally brief them, as we have with you, on the facts, status and outlook for the Arctic Gas pro- ject. (We are also eager to update our information to you at that time or separately.) The subjects include the likely schedule for approvals, the question of federal financial participation in large energy pro- jects -- relative to which we have had discussions with officials at the Treasury Department, Federal Energy Administration and Interior Department representatives -- and the importance of timing to the receipt of gas from Alaska. As I mentioned, we are scheduled to see Mr. Seidman on September 8. For meeting or meetings which are the subject of this letter, may I suggest September 3, 4 or 5, or September 8 (early morning or early afternoon). If these dates are not satis- factory, we would appreciate an opportunity to meet at their earliest convenience. We would appreciate your assistance in this regard. Very truly yours, 9im Lome James Rowland Lowe, Jr. Assistant General Counsel JRL:JBL THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON September 23, 1975 MEMORANDUM FOR THE FILE FROM : JIM CANNON SUBJECT : Meeting with Arctic Gas Company Representatives Although it was specified in the letter that Mr. Dunham was to attend the meeting, he was not present.
