MEMORANDUM TO: JIM CANNON
FROM:
ROBERT T. HARTMANN
BA
SUBJECT:
SOTU Trip to Williamsburg (vice Camp David)
Due to the unavailability of the facilities at Camp David,
arrangements have been made for special conference facili-
ties at Colonial Williamsburg.
Separate meeting rooms and study rooms will be available in
a separate VIP compound, and separate dining facilities have
been arranged in order to provide semi-seclusion.
Transportation will be provided by helicopter directly to
Williamsburg. The helicopter will leave the Pentagon helipad
at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, January 8th. You should
provide your own transportation to the Pentagon. In the event
of inclement weather, alternative arrangements have been made
for transportation by limousine.
The first meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and
meetings will continue through Friday for so long- as is
necessary to finish the job.
Telephone lines will be available there and the White House
operator will know how to reach you.
There will be no facilities for members of your family or
staff.
