SPEAKER, on July 27th, X introduced a Mill to provide family allowances for all servicemen called to active duty. Three veolre has elapsed and no action has been taken ty either the House OF Senate on this important logislation. In the neantime non are being called to active duty. tolton from their civilian Jobs, and no adequate compensation 1s forthcoming for their dependents. In order to protect the homes and families of those called to services, increases over the World Vege II allowances should to included in the law when fimily enseted. No cannot expect families to live on the some income they received in 1943. The Accessary legislation 10 apparently readblocked by como of our military leaders on puroly technical crounde. I admit 10 1s complicated legiclation but it seens to no the tremendous staffs in the Pentagon and the House and Senate connittees could have worked out a fair solution by this late date. I strongly usgo that our military loaders and the committee members work night and day on this problem until a Mil 10 ready for imediate emistment.
