Praise printing industry as having an average hourly wage 46 cents higher than national average.NE 3. Discuss need for small businessmen to keep in c lose touch with Congress and need to watch legislation from the start not after it has reached critical point. Then into two-party system GERALD, FORD LIBRARY 108 As citizens what can you do to help reach these goals? Where do you start? What might be your guidelines for action? First... mental and moral courage...to be involved as voters, taxpayers, partisans, candidates for office, ...patriots. Those sit on sidelines uttering carping criticism fail to strengthen foundations of the Nation. Patriotism in action demands loyalty to a philosophy... to set of ideals.... begins at home in your lòcal environment more GERALD FORD LIBRABY Q- Certainly, not all businessmen can take front-line positions in government as did George Romney, Robert McNamara and others but as community leaders you can fulfill your public responsibilities by establishing closer contact with government officials, encouraging your a ssociates to become more active in practical politics and by speaking out with courage as individuals en major public issues. Business executives often discover their counterparts in government have much in common dedication, concern and a heavy workload. Practical politicians welcome expert advise, but they don't get it often enough from businessmen perhaps we need better communications.
