Participants: Gerald and Betty Ford, Les and Betty Arends, John and Barbara Byrnes, Al and Elizabeth Smith, Glen and Kathryn Davis, Rod and Anna- bel Markley, Vern and Dorothy Johnson. Thursday, April 17: Lockheed company plane will depart from Page Airways ramp at Dulles Airport (separate from main terminal building) hopefully at 5:30PM. The plane will arrive at the Lockheed-Georgia Company, Marietta, Ga. about 8:15PM and will taxi to the C-5A hangar, where a 20 minute tour of the world's largest airplane will be provided. At this time, the plane will pick up the Johnsons, since Vern is attending there a company meeting the 16th and 17th. Also, the C-5A tour will be conducted by other visiting and local Lockheed officials, probably including Dan Haughton (Lockheed Chairman from California) and Tom May, President of the Lockheed-Georgia Company. After the C-5 tour, the plane will depart for West Palm Beach, Fla. and will arrive about 11:15PM, where the Ford Motor Co. will have cars available, along with Lost Tree station wagons, for transport to Lost Tree Village. The Johnsons will be staying in their Lost Tree home -- all others in Club suites. Dinner will be served on board the airplane -- on either the Dulles-Georgia leg or the Georgia-Florida leg, as each individual chooses. Friday, April 18: Golf for the golfers starting at 9:00 AM. Breakfast avail- able at the Lost Tree Club house earlier. One Ladies' group will be formed (or more if desired). Three Ford cars available for non-golfers who wish to shop or drive to the ocean and Beach Club area. Swimming at Club Suite pool and Beach Club pool is available. Luncheon available at either the pool snack bar or the Club house. At 3:45PM, departing from the Butler Aviation area west of the main West Palm Beach terminal, the Lockheed Convair airplane will take the entire group to Freeport in the Bahama Islands -- for sightseeing, shopping, dinner, and fun (?) at the casino. Also at 3:45PM, the Lockheed Beech airplane will take Gerry Ford to Sarasota, Fla., where he is to have a press conference and make an after dinner speech. Both the group from Freeport and Gerry from Sarasota will arrive back at West Palm Beach about 11:15PM. Saturday, April 19: Sleep in a bit, with golf starting from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Dinner on board. Arrive Dulles (Page Airways area) about 9:30PM. Transportation to and from Dulles: Each of the Congressmen will be contacted by Rod Markley or by Ed Lightfoot (Vern Johnson's Administrative Asst. ) to make individual arrangements. But, generally it is suggested that wives be picked up at their homes by Ford or Lockheed drivers (at about 4:30PM Thursday, April 17) and driven to Dulles with baggage. Husbands might then wish to drive their personal cars to Page Airways at Dulles, where ample free parking is available, and leave them there for the three days. Upon return to Page at Dulles Sunday night, the personal cars would be available or Ford and Lockheed cars and drivers will be available as needed. Telephone Numbers: Vernon A. It should be a festive bit, hopefully without a great deal of ceremony, and I am sure she will have a good time. Attached are copies of the Presidential Trip Schedule. You will note how tight the schedule is, and that the terse instructions hardly befit a Member of Congress. However, I hope she will find them a helpful guide. Air Force One leaves rapidly, right on schedule, please be there - - I'll get fired if we leave her behind! I look forward to seeing Mrs. Ford Saturday. With warm regard, Sincerely, Buyer Bryce N.
