Dear Mr. Ford:
We are spending some time here in California but since we
are from your district thought I would write to you. We, my
family and I are very much interested in the UFO sightings.
And, it makes us just furious that the Air Force tries to
discrecit everyone who sees and reports seeing one. This is
most unfair and childish, . We all know that they are not
imaginary, nor are they "swamp gas" or even "Winkin', Blinkin'
and Nod"! We feel that the government knows a lot more about

them than they will admit however I doubt if even our "all
powful" government knows where they come from.. We have been
hoping that Congress will have an investigation right away.
An open hearing, not one of the closed door variety.
Will you please see what you can do to get one going?
Sincerely,

Sir:
I am quite sure that you are familiar with the policies of the National Investigations
Committee on Aerial Phenomena. As Maryland's representative tb NICAP's Youth Council,
it is my duty and obligation to pursue all the facts concerning unidentified flying
objects, which includes listening to all sides of the issue. Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Air
Force UFO investigator, has brushed off these recent Michigan reports as CH₄, common-
ly called "marsh gas", and I certainly am in no position to dispute this man's word.
But, since under Air Force Regulation AFR 200-2 Dr. Hynek is forbidden to discuss UFO
reports in public unless the objects seen "have been positively identified as familiar

or known objects", this opens two pathways:
1) These objects have been positively identified as CH₄ clouds, and the many
trained policemen and other competent witnesses from your state lied about,
or just imagined seeing distinct "football-shaped craft

2) Dr. Hynek, pressured to make a public announcement, conformed to AFR 200-2
and is withholding vital information from the public.
Under the circumstances, either of these possibilities may be correct. But only when
great national statesmen like yourself show some interest, and pressure the Air Force
and Congress, will we get some positive action. Your dedication to the interests of
the American public has been emphasized by your stand on this issue. We hope that your
efforts will eventually bring about a complete reversal in Air Force policy towards UFOs,
as well as open hearings on the floor of Congress. Thank you so much.

Dear Sir:
I understand that you are seriously thinking of starting aDinvestigation
into the U.F.O. subject. I would like to take this opportunity to urge
you to press forward in this matter with all haste! It is long overdue.
The intelligent citizens deserve to have an honest and open hearing.
The truths on this subject have too long been covered and hushed up. If
the authorities do not have the answers on this subject how much better
to admit it than to keep telling intelligent people that they did not see
what they saw but only an inversion in the weather, or marsh gas
This planet is obviously being visited by space craft from elsewhere.
Their civilization is quite obviously much further advanced than ours
for their space craft are far superior to anything we have yet designed.
These people are apparently more advanced in their thinking than we are
as it is apparent they could have destroyed us if they had so desired
but have not done so. They have left us in peace. And the people of
this world are still at the level of wars and destruction. So we apparently
have nothing to fear from them, we only need to raise our level of thinking.
I would also like it recorded that on March 16 at 2100 hours my 18 year

old son and I saw a very bright light in the sky. Brighter than Venus.
We saw it first straight overhead it's course was due north between the
big dipper and the North Star. It was very high and traveling very fast.
Suddenly it would stop and then go first to one side and then to the other.
Incontinued on this course, stopping and going to the side untill it
disappeared over the horizon. It would be interesting to know if this
space craft was picked up on radar at one of the stations in Ohio, wouldn'
it?
I tried to report this to the Akron-Canton weather station but could get
no reply, after many attempts I called the Akron City airport and reported
it to the man in the control tower. He referred me to a Mr. Poppovich
who records such sightings. There should be an official place to report
such things.
Again I would like to urge you to start the investigation on the U.F.O.s.

SIGHTSEEING
March 27, 1966
The Honorable Gerald Ford
U. S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C.
Dear Congressman Ford:
My wife and I have just read in today's Springfield Daily News
(Springfield, Missouri) that you have proposed a Congressional
investigation into the subject of U.F.O.'s.
I am a commercial pilot and fixed base operator, and have been
flying charter since 1958, presently have about 3000 logged
hours. For many years I have been interested in newspaper and
magazine reports on unidentified flying objects. During the
course of my flying and in contacts with the flying public at
our local airfield I have talked to two airline pilots, one

large fixed base operator, and an F.A.A. communicator who have
personally seen things that appeared alarmingly unnatural, and
which in two cases appeared to be craft of some sort, but craft
which did not seem to have the characteristics or appearance
of any craft that they had ever seen.
We feel that the Air Force has been conducting a cover-up of
this phonomena for many years for reasons unknown to us, possibly
because they fear the public's reaction to the truth. However,
the truth now might be better than headlines six inches high at
some later date.
We sincerely hope that you will continue to press for this in-
vestigation and release all findings to the public.
Sincerely yours,
Laurmee Willett

Sir:
Dear *******
APR 1 - ANS'D
Congressman Gerald Ford's proposed Congressional investigation of the
Unidentified Flying Object phanomena seems essential for the welfare of the
United States and ought to be done immediately.
In relation to the UFO phenomena I would like to ask the following questions.
Does Project BlueBook allow the United States Air Force to buy much unneeded equipment
and provide many comfortable jobs, quite without value, for Air Force personnel? Has
Project Blue Book provided an excellent coverup for United States military failures;
as for instance in 1952 when a UFo scare occured at the time that our military forces
were not doing so well in Korea and when an election was pending, and again in
November, 1957, when our military forces had lost the space race to Russia?
Did the United StatesAir Force hush up the UFO story during these several times when
it may have gotten out of hand?
If the United States Air Force is doing these specefic excercises in studying
and plotting in the chase for UFO's from other worlds merely as military practice
and if the United States Air Force is really interested in Unidentified Flying
Objects from the Communist world why cannot it admit the true facts of this military
even to its own mind? Is the United States Air Force suffering from some form of
paranoia and projecting its real fears into the chase of imaginary objects from
other worlds in outer space? Is the United States Air force stirring up war
hysteria with this myth in order to obtain excessive amounts of money for national
defense?
PHOTOCOPY FROM GERALD FORD I BRARY
Does not the United States Air Force have radar facilities and other
sophisticated means to tell whether an unidentified missle or object really
comes from the stars of outer space without benefit of primitive Project Blue
Book excersises unless, that is, it is secretly known that UFO's from other
worlds in actuality exist?
And finally, what are the four to six unidentified objects or satellites
now circling the earth according to a United Press story of March 17, 1963?
I am curious as to what the answer to these questions in relation to UFO's,
corruption, and possible censorship might be and hope that the new Congressional
Investigation will answer these questions.
Respectfully yours,
Theodore Prenton Theodore Drenton

Dear Representative Ford,
I congratulate you on trying to start an
congressional invtigation on UFOs and the
Air Force project "Bluebook". The Air Force
has been white washing this for about twenty
years for some stupid reason of their own.
Major Keyhoe of N.I.C.A.P. has a alot of
information on the subject, 1536 Conn. Ave
N.W., Washington, D.C. The recently published
book, "Anatomy of a Phenomenon", by Jacques
Valle, published by Regnery, is a very
convincing work and investigation into UFOs
also. The public needs to know what to do
when they see a UFO, not just to pretend
they don't exist. The Air Force should be

ing to prove they are crazy. I humbly suggest
that this UFO investigation be taken out of
the hands of the Air Force and turned over to
the FBI who could probally handle it in a
more competent manner. A year ago I wrote
my congressman, the president, and my
representative on this matter, but they were
not very interested and swallowed the Air
Force line.
Respectfully yours,

Dear Senator Ford,
Some of us here in New Mexico are very much up-set about
the U. F. 0. situation.
As a little back ground on myself so that you will not
consider me a "crack pot"- I am 63 years old and born in N. M.

world and ome single son and 16 grandchildren.
I have been interested in the U. F. 0.S since 1947 when
Arnold first coined the term "Flying Saucers". I never have
seen one.
I get very annoyed at the Air Force and Dr. Hynek and Dr.
Mensel. A city policeman at Socorro, N. M. saw a strange
machine about a year ago. He drove onto a low mesa and looked
down on this object. He saw it take off and fly away. Dr.
Hynek was sent out here and pooh poohed the whole thing.
NOW I see where he says a picture of two light trails is
of the moon and Venus. Do you really believe a man would train
his camera for 12 minutes on the moon and not know what it was?
Why does not the Air Force admit they do not know what this
is I believe they have tried to make contact and failed. Let us
have some clarification on the whole subject.
Sincerely

Dear Sie;
I've noticed your request for proper officials to make
a full investigation of the UFO situation, and give full
report to the people.
I believe this is very commendable. The only thing
is I doubt there is a man-jack among them who would
believe the actual truth of what they are. Those people
all believe EVERYTHING MUST BE EXPLAINABLE IN A mechanical
way, if you get what I mean.
NOW, these UFO things cant be explained that way. I do.
belong to.a group who are turored by God Himself in THESE LAST
DAYS OF TIME. And we KNOW these things are not from "another
planet" at all; but are demon spirits that are able to take
just any kind of a body they desire NOW, and their purpose
is to keep the people from seeking THE TRUE GOD in these times
when time is $0000 short. The 6 days of man's time was ended
last October, now begins the 7th Day which is the Millenium,-
but is preceeded by THE GREAT TRIBULATION, which is beginning
PHOTOCOPY FROM GERALD FORD BRARY
now and after we get clear in it it will last another 7 years.
There is war being waged in the heavens even now, and very
soon this war will fall to the eArth. Jesus told us that
"very soon now the whole world will explode into great trouble".
Now you see the Communist Nations having a great conclave
over what to do about us. It is, according tothe Bible, now NOT
a war of flesh and blood, but, a war of Principalities and Powers
and demons in high places (the 2nd heaven), but it takes over
the demon-controlled people of Comminism against the Christians.
THAT IS WHERE WE ARE NOW.
About ? yearsago a Dr. John Strange from N.Y. City wrote a
book entitled "MY FRIEND FROM VENUS". It, contained a picture
of this being, which also looked exactly like another being who
had been on television about the same time. This being said
there were then 700 Of them here on the earth. They knew everything
without being told. (spooky). Now, Tesus told us that the earth is
the only planet that has life on it. And we know that no other
planet has proper temperature or air to support life. My question
is WHY KEEP TRYING TO INHABIT THEM? Now we learn there are thousands
of these 'spooks' here on earth. THEY ARE THE ONES MARING AND THE
TROUBLE ON THE EARTH. THEY ARE DEMONS WHO HAVE TAKEN THEMSEIVES
BODIES out of thin air. That is the same way they build the UFOs
OUT OF THIN AIR.
Yes, it is very spooky knowledge, but if we believe it,
then we wont be surprided at the other things that are about to
happen.
Yes, we will be attacked from the East by the Communists
and at the same time from the West by the Red Dragon. Dont be
misled into believing there is trouble between Russian Communism
and Chinese Communism. That is just a smoke-screen to keep is
as dumb ая possible. They will probably attack early next
Christmas morning -- their holiday present to us to celebrate
Christmas. The Russian planes will come over S0 thick as to
blacken the skies. Some of us looked for them last Christmas,
but we were not told which Christmas. Now ,it looks as tho it
will be this next one. They will blast all our bigger cities
off the map, and then drop their men by papachute to destroy all
the smaller communities.
The purpose of the UFO is by Satan to help keep us from
finding out what REALLY is going on: I could tell you a lot
more, but the time is not right. The only weapon against the
UFO is "THE BLOOD OFC CHRIST." There was an apparition that
came to a farm-place south of Muskegon, every evening. It was a
horrible looking thing made of green light. Finally I called
them and told them not to play with it, but to shout THE BLOOD
OF CHRIST, THE BLOOD OF CHRIST"" at it. They did, and it never
came back. That was last fall.
Do you see what I mean? In fact THE ONLY protection we have
from now on is keeping ourselves UNDER THE BLOOD OF CHRIST, by
PHOTOCOPY FROM GERALD FORD I BRARY
going before Him each morhing and night and CLAIM IT OVER US.
Yes, time is short and we fight not against flesh and bloodm
but against principalities and powers in the 2nd heaven. And they
are getting more real every day.
God bless you.

Dear Sirs:
I am writing in regards to UFO.
I live at North Lake five miles west of the Manner Farm. On Saturday
night I, plus two other persons with me , observed objects in the sky
which differed very much from stars or planes. We called the county
sheriff department and two officers observed the same thing. In an
day. We had not had conversations about the sightings.
independent report my neighbor described the same phenomathe following BRARY
I observed from II 30 P.M. to I:30 A.M. : retired and was up at 3;309A.M.
and saw the same objects but in different locations. At all times IOwas
using binoculars. I could not see the same things with the naked eya,
I am nearsighted, but others could direct me to where to look with the
binoculars, on occassion I could distingiush color. THOUT
On Sunday night at II:30 P.M. I observed the same thing again. Anoth r
nëeghbor boy called me; he had been looking and was comparing sight mgs
with me. We had not had conversation during the evening. He came and
looked with the binoculars, but he could describe the same motions 91th
the naked eye which I was observing with binoculars.
I sincerely believe what we saw could be seen by anyone else. I sim
cerely believe there is some phenomena (which could and must be confirmed
as happening, whether explained or not. I cannot subscribe to the cur-
rent explanations.
This is what I observed:
The objects were far away. One's attention was attracted to them be-
cause they were brighter than the stars and gave an appearance of being
of red, green and white illumination. They appeared in all directions
and in no specific pattern. At one time I counted thirt een such" illum-
inations". They moved position as opposed to a star which remains
staticary; they did stay in approxiamately in the same location in the
sky until they were no longer visible. This was as long as an hour and
as short as a few minutes.
I believe my significant observation was the motion and appearance of
the illumination as I would watch one in particular. As it appeared
farther away it had the appearance of green white and red with no
definite shape. As it came nearer a white illumination around it be-
came brighter and there was a definite motion which created sharpely
defined green and red streaks, much like a picture taken of moving
traffic lights. Attached is a sketch of the motion pattern as I would
interpret it. The motions were fast and abrupt. The nearer it appeared
the brighter the illumination and more definite the red and green streaks
and the faster the motions. Then it would fade away. I fixed my binocular

Within probably five minutes the object had moved from the visual field
of my binoculars; it moved to the right and downward, all the time
going through what appeared to be swift non-directional motions. The
nieghbor boy was describing all the same motions while observing with
the naked eye. One of my supervisors today described an observation
she had made as"kite like" motions.
I believe that further investigation must be made of what we are seeing,
that there is some recognition and confirmed public knowledge that
something is being seen, and an explanation of whatever it is, or a
statement that the U.S. Government does not know what it is. These
observations should not continue to be ignored. People who observe
these things are reluctant to speak out for fear of ridicule (my super-
visor said she had not even told her husband yet)

also, it iswell known in Mr. Ruppelts' book; that the
Air Troves "Project Bluebook" has on many reports
about M.F.O.- stamped "Secret"or " Top Secret,"
now if this is so, then its an indirect admission that
there is sure something behind oll this, otherwise, such
tactics wouldnothave been used by the air Forces
"Project Bluebook." To me its a waste of time to spend
tax dollars choseing after something like this; if you
did notreally believe them to be interplantary your
self. How much longer does the public get the old
run around? Iwouldnot be writeing all this, if I were
not concerned and very interested to know all the

facts about life from outside this planet-as many
people are. I will keep digging and probeing; untill
this is out in the open; as (Vil.C.A.P.) has been try-
mg to get the Congress to do; in vain sofar.
This surely does notinvolve security, because these
M.F.O. have nothormed anyone or thing sofar as l
know so why all the fear? as lx President F.D.R.
has said "we have nothing to fear but fear itself"
we have faced for greater things that have been
solved, and we will continive to do-so-long after all
of you gentelmen have retired.
President K- ennedy said Letus go forward" Lets, call
a spode a spode. Leto stop all the "weaselwording"
of Mr. Ruppelt has said in his fine book, and get
down to serious reports to the public.
Once again sir, I cannot thank you enough, and
please do not let amything stop you, because this is
just too important on issue that not only this nation
has a right to know all about but the whole world
so well. Leading scientists around the world connot
be wrong about these M.F.O. Military as well as
commercial piloto know hat the see. Coll N.I.C.A.P.
forward with there widense and have the scientists
have there say on this. I can only say this in closening
open and direct contact with no, what the hellwill
d f and when these beings ever decide to make an
all the censorship be worth then.
I wish you all, the luck in the would, and prey
you can get this out in the open either in Congress
