Honorable Sir:
Congratulations on your attempt to have Congressional
Inquiry into UFO's.
They have been around this vicinity since I956, to my
seeing knowledge;all shapes and sizes and soundless. Some looked like
skeleton of a fish, but with portholes along wide edge. Others seemed
eliptical, with varying lights along bottom.
Right now, we are seeing what at first appears to be a
star, but when observed closely, appears to "shoot-eff elongated light
which speeds toward earth. If our telescope were of the best, stronger,
we think we might actually "make-out" what may be similar to our own
type astronaut, suspended by what looks like a belt.
At one time, this winter, when a "saucer" novered over
our house, we noticed that the street light kept increasing its light
and then diminishing. The FLARE was so bright we could not stand it!

I could go on and on, but what's the use? I dropped a
line to weatherman hear, who discounted all sightings by the usual:
"vapor-gaseous, balloon" stuff, and the newspaper was not interested,
If possible, and you feel it might nelp, secure the book
written by Frank Scully: "Behind The Flying Saucers" Henry nolt Co.
Anyway, good luck to you. It is time the public demanded
the TRUTH in MANY respects, fromWashington!

Dear Congressman Ford,
This letter expresses my support far your call for a Congressional
investigation of the Air Force's conduct in matters dealing with
unidentified flying objects.
It has seemed to me that our Department of Defense has been less
than candid in reporting many of the incidents in the past, but
because of the patently ludicrous, even clumsy explanation of the
recent Michigan sightings I believe that it is imperative that
attempts by made to discever the reasons why the Air Ferce feels
it necessary to go to ridiculous lengths in their explanations.
As an Air Force veteran and a graduate student I de not enjoy
seeing my former service's reputation being placed in jeopardy
by lame explanations of the "swamp gas" type. As a citizen I want
to know what these obvieus and deliberate false explanations are
protecting or accomplishing.
I wish you success in your efforts. Should the Air Force hide
behind executive privilege, a mis-placed sense of the national

and I am positive, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that these strange
objects not only exist but are under the control of an intelligence from
a planet other than earth.
I feel that we need congressional hearings on the subject

sighting was caused by swamp gas, it definitely shows that they should
be taken out of the picture and replaced by a group of qualified

objects then we can work for a meeting between earth and this other
planet, in the hopes of obtaining scientific information that will
better the life on earth.

you that the American public has not be given ade-
quate answers by the Air Force in many instances as
to the whys and hows of UFOs. I certainly don't

panic. If there is something to many of the sightings

average citizen and I work for the Pacific Tel
and Tel Co. I have never seen a UFO myself but
I have a friend, who with his wife and two children
did see one last November at close range. Also
in the course of my job, I have talked to people
who have seen them. Among those people, was the
wife of a Jet Propulsion Labratory employee.
She stated that she saw one in the San-
Fransisco area with aprox 200 other people.
The California highway patrol had the spot lights
of their patrol cars shinning up on the bottom
of one. Yes, there are definitely honest, close
range sightings of real objects. Good luck in
your endevor.

One afternoon, a couple of years ago, I saw a
cream colored, cigar shaped balloon-like object
hovering about 30 feet above the water of San Fran-
cisco Bay, along side of Angel Island. After
remaining motionless for some time it suddenly
sped up the channel and out of my vision. It
certainly was not my immagination Bond it due
to "marsh gas".

What the have-nots need, more than anything else, is a good
example of moral and fiscal integrity.
For instance, restoring the honest valueto our dollars would
cure "poverty" for all the people who invested in bonds, annuities
and other fixed income, only to find that more than 50% of their
savings has been confiscated!
Curbing installment buying is a step in the right direction.
It has caused many bankruptcies,
Any further tax as a hedge against inflation would be self-
defeating if the revenue derived therefrom 1s used by government
as a club to enforce its policies, or is dangled, as matching funds,
before unwary citizens for projects they do not need or could better
do themselves. If it were applied on the national debt, that would

be a prestige builder in the national interest!
Socialism has already been tried in this country and proven &
failure.
Excrbitant corporation taxes discourage expansion and employ-
ment. Excessive unemployment benefits induce people not to work
and pay taxes. Inheritance and gift taxes are unfair.
The graduated income tax is unjust discrimination. Congress
was told the tax would never be more than 10%. Everyone should be
taxed at the same rate. "The income tax is the root of all evil."
It enables government to use funds for unconstitutional, unfair
competition with businesses and industry, causing many bankruptcies.
It permits sending "foreign aid" to socialist and communist govern-
ments, which is unconstitutional, and results in aiding enemies and
over
hurting friends!
The U.S. should at least not be hindering Cuban patriots,
or opposing Rhodesia's duly elected government, or proventing
Nationalist Ohina from liberating their homeland.
With apologies to Oliver Goldsmith: "Ill fares the land,
to hastening illa a prey, where wealth accumulates" - for
Bureaucrats back "and men decay.' #

I an most pleased that you are recommending that a congressional in-
vestigation be initiated in regard to the subject of Unidentified
Flying Objects. Too many citizens have been ridiculed and I, for
one, would never make a formal report that I had seen anything, in
view of our Air Force's assinine attitude in regard to this matter.
They are breeding an American citizen who has a heady contempt for

have an investigation... aside from the fact that it is a preety
well-established fact that some sort of vehicle is being viewed.

I watched you on television news programs several days ago, when you urged
congressional hearings on UFO's. I thought you might be interested in reading the
enclosed booklet, appropiately entitled "Flying Saucers"! It may help to shed some
light on the subject.
Congressional hearings might help, I don't know. Perhaps the UFO's would be
given some dignity this way, but the public is so fickle it's hard to say. Members
of the Air Force and the scientific professions, who would undoubtedly be called
upon to testify, would mostly tend to explain things in terms of what is KNOWN.
And the AF has said it is not holding anything back and has given out to the pub-
lic all that it knows. But, WHO would testify in behalf of the Flying Saucers?
Perhaps you should give this some thought.

I am surprised that a physicist, such as yourself, cannot conceive of the pos-
sibility that the "lights" that many people have recently seen in Michigan and other
parts of the country (which our Air Force sent you to investigate) could be the effect
of an electric or magnetic forcefield about a spaceship, causing the atmosphere about
the ship to become luminous at night.
No one is denying swamp gas for itself, but when our airplanes ard in the sky
at night in Michigan and their running lights or afterburners are seen, no one, in-
cluding yourself, would suggest that what people are seeing is swamp gas, because
it is KNOWN what the difference is.
We tend to explain whatever we see, in terms of the Known, and extraterrestrial
spacecraft and Visitors from other planets are not yet part of the Race Consciousness
BUT SLOWLY GETTING THERE IN SPITE OF OURSELVES, IT SEEMS! It appears to be very
difficult, also, for the American ego to take the knowledge that someone has beaten
him into OUter Space! Or is smarter than he is.

of demoralization.

icanpeopleare becoming alarmed by the U.F.O. stories and that the Air
Force investigations have come up with nothing conclusive.
Democrat that I am, I support you heartily, without reserva-
tions, on this matter of "A Well-witnessed 'Invasion'--by Something"
as the eight full pages of this week's issue of LIFE magazine attests.
Ever since the year 1950 (16 years ago) I have been consist-
ently participating in uncovering the REALITY a nd MEANING of the com-
ing ofvarious forms of Aerial Phenomena.
Undoubtedly you received a copy of "The UFO Evidence" book,
se nt to all Representatives and Senators in 1964, which documented
hundreds of UFO sightings, and properly evaluated each of them.
This book was the result of many years of investigation by

a group of serious researchers by members of NICAP (National Investi-
gations Committee on Aerial Phenomena). Members of the Board of this
organization are "Top" men--some having served in high service in
military service, governmental circles, and scientific attainment.

"Government by Deceit" are getting to the "explosive point" of
complete disgust at the high-handed arrogance handed out to us by
the Air Force "stooges" who pretend tc DENY the actual REALITY of
UFO's.
No "white-washed" report will be accepted. Bank on THAT!
Most of us laymen believe that the discovery of nuclear
fission, its use for infinte destruction, PLUS the threat of use of
the Hydrogen bomb in warfare, has awakened inhabitants of other
inhabited worlds in our own solar system AND outside our solar sys-
tem to our ultimate intent.

known as the first "White Rajah" of Sara-
wak, an Asian land in northern Borneo.
Three generations of Mr. Brooke's family
ruled this country of Sarawak as an in-
dependent state for just over a hundred
years. The last Rajah before the country
became a British colony in 1946 was Mr.
Brooke's uncle, Sir Charles Vyner Brooke.
But Mr. Anthony Brooke himself ruled
the country for a time with full powers.
This was at the time of the outbreak of
war with Germany in 1939, when he
signed the Proclamation as Rajah Muda.
Mr. Brooke's own spiritual quest has
