Miscellaneous comments: Week of March 24-28, 1975
Pro military intervention in Mid East and Vietnam (by the
Air Force to neutralize the industrial heartland.)
US is biased in its support of Israel. Whatever's good
enough for the Vietnamese is good enough for Isreal.
Disgusted with the Hill over lack of aid for Cambodia
and Vietnam. Pro equipment to bomb Hanoi; even atomic bombs.
White House is doing a pretty good job. Keep up the good
work.
Concerned about the deficit. Constitution and Art. 1, Sec. 8
of Bill of Rights says Hill has the power to pay the debt.
"When are they going to get started?"
The domino theory is alive and kicking and operative.
Support GF's position to decrease aid to Israel.
US has deserted SE Asia.
Con Israel not agreeing with the Arabs.
It's terrible that the US government is getting involved
in SE Asia when there are unemployed people in US.
Disturbed that so little is said about the refugees. Can't
the pressure be put to Moscow, Peking, etc. to help the
refugees to stop this insane killing?
Con SVN falling to the communists. If GF needs a volunteer,
man will go. Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pro aid to VN and Cambodia. Keep up the good work and get
some supplies over there.
Since Israel is the only democracy in the Mid East, we must
keep our present policy there.
Con military aid anywhere. Against violence to reach a
conclusion to end a conflict.
Appalled at HAK's press conf.; equating Vietnam with the ME.
Hope the break in the ME negotiations won't cool US support
towards Israel.

Don't incite the Arabs. It could start a war.
Con the tax credit on new homes. US shouldn't subsidize
the construction industry. Veto tax bill.
Sign the tax bill. GF can't have his way all the time.
Hill has a closer idea of what's best for the US than 1 man
as President.
GF shouldn't go to Calif. and fraternize with Nixon.
Con US involvement in SE Asia except for reconstruction.
Hope GF finds the courage and wisdom to veto the tax b ill.
Hill is spineless. Their legislation is a smoke screen to dupe
the uninformed electorate.
Pro aid to SVN. Concerned the US has lost its integrity in
supporting its allies and friends. Firmly support GF.
GF's chopping down the elderly on Social Security. We haven't
benefited with a cost of living increase.
HAK's putting pressure on W. Germany to give military aid to
Turkey is deplorable and a subterfuge.
Veto the tax bill. It's socialistic and ridiculous.
Veto tax bill. Rebate to buyers of new homes is discriminatory.
Object to spending billions of dollars on the B-1 bomber which
is obsolete.
USG should keep its word and support SVN.

AROA
Pro helping more than the 2,000 orphans; more need homes than
just the 2,000.
Am pleased with Admin's proposal allowing savings institutions
to pay interest on checking accounts.
WH and Congress should read the Bible on Sunday and not work
on US' business on that day. If they did that, they wouldn't
have as many problems the other days of the week.
GF's 3/27 comment that Israel wasn't flexible enough during
the recent negotiations: it's absurd and irresponsible. Israel
shouldn't give up the passes without an Arab delcaration of
non-belligerence. US is wrong to pressure Israel.
It's wrong to bring 150,000 Vietnamese orphans to the US.
Stupid.
GF should bomb North Vietnam since they can't keep their word.
To let it go unpunished is to invite further aggression by
the communists.
Do all you can to make the Viet Cong release our missionaries
in Vietnam.
Vietnam is a waste, but GF isn't responsible for it. Con aid.
US has a moral commitment to Vietnam but not to support the
Thieu regime. No aid to Saigon till a coalition government
is set up. Pro humanitarian aid.
GF should make a peace pact with Europe.
Con aid to Vietnam. GF and Kissinger should listen to the
US people.
Peace with Honor "Bah. Where is the Peace?"
Get rid of Ambassador Martin. He's a bad influence. Pro
aid but no arms.
Con orphans to US. They will be able to get jobs that our
children would be able to fill. These sick children could
start an epidemic. It would be better to adopt some of
our own orphans. GF wasn't elected by the Am. people. Let's
start to think of the Am. people more and others less.
Va. Beach, Va. woman has 2 sons. "They are not going to
fight for this country if this is the way America is going
to be run. No vote for GF in '76 from her family.
-2- Week of Ap. 7-11, 1975
Save the horses and whales from being slaughtered. (Young child)
Levi selection was a mistake. Gun control is unconstitutional.
It's important for US to show its strong support for Israel.
Pro aid to Israel. Don't push Israel into an agreement that
would endanger its security.
Why not send the US' celebrities on a Peace Walk to stop the
killing in SE Asia?
Pay more attention to the US fishing industry. We let the
foreign fishing fleet fish too close in.
It's repulsive to see a picture of GF holding an orphan
when he supports a regime that is responsible for the
deaths of many more orphans daily.
Ashamed of what action US is taking in Vietnam. We have a
commitment in SE Asia. Con Hill's attitude. Pro military
intervention in SE Asia with equipment but not troops.
Congress is on a spending spree. "I get sick of getting
taken all the time." We must stop spending so much.
The names of those who died in Vietnam should be given
to the orphans who come over to the US.
Con refugees to US on a large scale. A few is okay. US
should provide aid, but along with support from other
countries. Con military aid; no equipment.
GF should send planes to Vietnam to get the rest of the orphans.
Con coal mining legislation.
US has no right to go to other countries and take over. We
shouldn't bring orphans to US. We have some in the US who
need homes.
Continue efforts on the orphans; especially GI's kids.
More orphans should be brought to the US. 2,000 is a token
number. US should exert pressure on SVN govt to release
refugees if we use our aid money as leverage. Pro humanitarian
aid.
Pro granting immediate citizenship to SVN orphans.

only human. You can't work miracles. Only God can." Patricia

Con refugees from the Mid East or Vietnam to come to the US.
Please get out of Vietnam and stay out. Get the Vietnamese
people out who have helped us.
US napalm hurt Vietnamese children. Did GF ever speak out on
My Lai?
Why isn't the US govt speaking out on behalf of Vietnamese/US
war brides and illegitimate children of US men against
recriminations?
Don't go half way. Go back all the way to SE Asia with military
and humanitarian aid. It's not the American way to go half way.
In the US, we have thousands of Vietnamese war brides. When
the communists take over, the families of these women will be
tortured and killed. There are one-half million children of
US men in Vietnam. No mention has been made of these children
whom we owe more to than the 2,000 orphans.
Object to GF extending the investigation of the CIA for 2 months
more when the US has more important things confronting us.
Congress shouldn't oversee CIA activities.
Should not take hand guns away from innocent people. Go back
to the death penalty, if necessary or build more jails.
The US people should vote on the busing issue. It invades our
privacy and takes away the parents' rights to chose their
schools.
Reagan is right about Vietnam. Land the Marines in North Vietnam
til NVN decides to honor the '73 Accords. I hope GF decides to
do something about the situation besides worrying about the
orphans. Chatanooga, Tenn.
Disappointed in GF because he is allowing the US to go into a
depression. He shouldn't have signed the tax bill. Don't like
his economic policies. "I'll work for Reagan.'

Urging open immigration for the Vietnamese to the US as soon
as possible. Ask GF to prevail upon Thieu to let the Vietnamese
to come to the US. Without regard to government, military, or
political position, we're in favor or humanitarian aid. Take
steps to insure in the future that the currency and immigration
channels are kept open so these families in Vietnam may con-
tinue to correspond and maintain their essential relationship.
Applaud GF/ Kissinger's efforts to settle the Mideast situation.
Pro aid to SE Asia directly, but no US tax dollars should
be distributed to international agencies because some money
will end up subsidizing the Viet Cong and communists.
Pro aid to Vietnam and Cambodia. It's our duty to help and we
have the means to do it.
Propose Saigon be declared an open city and all military activity
would cease. Stir the conscience of world governments to save
the lives of innocents.
Happy Birthday to BF.
Give a cost-of-living adjustment to wages, salaries, and assets.
Wants someone highter than Butz to represent the US at Chiang

Put people back to work; make them earn a living. We shouldn't

Re: Vietnam, the US isn't a traitor.

Remove Kissinger. Disappointed with the way GF is handling
his office. Detente is for the birds. We're going to give
everything to the USSR. Con Rockefeller.

Why aren't the liberal Congressmen screaming about what North
Vietnam is doing to South Vietnam? Con Kennedy. News media is
one-sided.
Do not help officials to leave Saigon till all the orphans are
out.
With the US' action in Vietnam, caller is concerned the US will
give up in the Mideast on Israel.
Con aid to Cambodia or Vietnam. Okay to send aid to North Vietnam.
The CIA should assassinate Thieu.
If the US withholds military aid to South Vietnam, then we have
the moral obligation to evacuate everyone who doesn't want
to live under the communists.
Charity begins at home. "Leave the orphans in Vietnam."
Where does GF get the nerve to do it without the approval
of the US people?
Repair strip mines.
Detente is nonsense.
Pro SOTW. It's a matter of national pride in SE Asia. Congress

Support the CIA.
Disappointed in SOTW. No creativity in humanitarian aspect.
Support SOTW. GF "earned title of 'Mr. President".

Congress' fault. It's the fault of SVN not fighting.
Kissinger, resign. Change SE Asia policies. Recognize Taiwan.

Con Thomas Meskill appointment to US 2nd Court of Appeals.

don't need it; they should waive it or donate it to Vietnam
relief. Congress should pass an act that Social Security

or give it away, we can't get it back.
I can't believe the US is going to let Cambodia be a bloodbath.
Pro military aid to Cambodia.
Con the proposed consumer protection agency.
GERALD
R.
Con any aid to SE Asia. GF: "Get out of the clouds and get
back into reality."
FORD
We are obliged to get the refugees out of Vietnam. They have
helped us and now aren't safe.
Hello!
Believe in the sanctity of life. Con Civil Service Commission
report on abortion. Pro-life.
-3- Week of April 14-18, 1975
Communicate with North Vietnam.
Opposed to bringing refugees to US. Leave them there to fight.
Con military aid to SE Asia. The US shouldn't be a salesman
of military hardware.
Opposed to military aid to Vietnam. Con refugees to US unless
administered by an international organization. Con helping
corrupt leaders and drug traffic.
Protest the Civil Rights report against the rights of unborn
children.
Anti ERA and BF's activity in support of ERA. ERA causes nothing
but anguish. Pro CIA. Pro GF.
I think GF's the best President the US ever had. Evan Molho and
Larry Swiger, Scarsdale, New York. Both 10 yrs. old.
GF should go to Hanoi and take Billy Graham and Father Hesburgh
with him.
The UN serves no purpose. Help South Vietnam. There's no way
to erase this stain of a lack of US support for SVN.
Help the Vietnamese in SVN who have helped the US or have
families in the US.
Give Vietnam to the US so the US could put troops in. Then,
GERALD
when the US gets the communists out, give the country back
R.
to Vietnam.
TORANT
FORD
At long last we are getting out of Vietnam and Cambodia. We
can't do it fast enough.
Con Military aid to SE Asia. Pro humanitarian aid. Con US
intervention except to evacuate US personnel.
Concerned with the elderly. We can't pay the price to buy the
drugs we need. Medication is very costly.
Dismayed over ERA. We think the 14th Amendment and the Civil
Rights and Equal Pay Act of 1963 took care of this. Taxpayer's
money shouldn't be used to push ERA.
Where are these Vietnamese people going? We do not want them
not in the US.
GF's doing a fantastic job. Conn. man hopes GF gets elected in '76.
US should supervise a compromise in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Congress is messing up our policies abroad and should do what
GF wants. Pro GF's policies re: SOTW. GF's done a good job.
-4- Week of April 14-18, 1975
Kissinger is responsible for the mess in Vietnam. The communists
gave back the POWs, moved their troops out of SVN and didn't
attack SVN. The US violated the Paris Peace Accords.
US should support Greece. Con aid to Turkey.
Respect GF and pray for him. "I think GF needs all the support
he can get. "
What about a telethon to provide aid to arm the South Vietnamese?
It would shame the Congress. GF is captive of Congress.
Communists deny God. God wants us to love others and Him. GF
should call on the US to support all nations against communists.
Give all the aid necessary to defeat the communists. Return to
faith in God. GF should go on TV and ask the nation to join
him in repentence and faith in Jesus and God.
Agree with GF that our lack of military and economic aid and
commitment did contribute lack of success in Vietnam. GF's doing
a good job.
Get the US out of Vietnam. Quit playing politics.
Concerned that GF is blaming others (Congress, etc.) for Vietnam.
Do not "cast the blame."
Turkey was aggressive. Therefore, Cyprus violated the law. Now
GF and Kissinger violate it more by providing arms to Turkey.
Against orphans to US and the cultural mixture it will create.
Get US personnel out of Vietnam. US has given enough lives already.
GF should do all he can to help South Vietnam; even if the Hill
impeached him for supporting SVN.
Pro BF on her cancer efforts on behalf of all women.
It would be wrong to nationalize the Rock Island railroad or
all of the railroads for that matter.
Shocked that GF can hold off on humanitarian aid till Hill
appropriates the military aid to VN. That's blackmail.
Con GF saying Congress is responsible for Vietnam situation.
It's not true. US has poor who need food and money. Vietnam
will always be at war.
GERALD
R
FORD
-5- Week of April 14-18, 1975
Congress represents the views of the US more closely. Congress
was elected; GF wasn't. Con GF making comparisons at DAR speech
between US and USSR and PRC. The communists didn't lay down
their lives as US did.
US should give to Vietnam through the Red Cross, UN, or
"Friends" organization for humanitarian aid. GF looks foolish
by blaming the Congress for not appropriating money when so
much money and many lives were spent.
GF should get rid of the communists in the White House and
in Congress.
Con GF saying US aid cut lost Vietnam. Vietnam lost it themselves.
Pro ERA and BF's activities on behalf of ERA.
Con GF blaming the US and Congress for the fall of South Vietnam
while almost praising USSR and PRC for supporting their allies.
GF is blackmailing the Congress and keeping the South Vietnamese
and US personnel hostage by not sending humanitarian aid till
he gets his $700 million aid request. Con military aid. Get
Thieu out of Vietnam.
I fear GF may not be assertive enough on the Vietnam
recriminations that may occur.
Kissinger is a good man but has failed all around the world
and can't be used any longer. PRC and USSR are taking advantage
of US' lack of action in foreign policy. "I and 3 million
other Viet vets have broken hearts over this. " (US weak stand
on foreign policy.)
Con orphans to US if we're going to let the communists take
over Vietnam. Let them take care of the people.
Don't let the communist sympathizers in Congress deter your
thoughts on the action the US is taking in SE Asia. Hang in
there with Kissinger.
