THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON National Bible Week November 21-28, 1976 The United States of America, conceived under God two hundred years ago, this year rededicates itself to the spiritual and moral values that will transform our people. This transformation rests not only on the guidelines of our national Constitution but upon the Holy Bible itself. As Honorary Chairman of National Bible Week, I encour- age all Americans to renew our commitment to the prin- ciples that are manifested in the scriptures that have become "Freedom's Holy Light." Our forefathers were inspired by the Bible and its mes- sage of human liberation. Throughout American history, the Bible has nurtured the American heart, mind and spirit. The Bible provides a new inspiration to new generations. The Word of God continues to ennoble our thoughts and deeds and enlarge our vision. Let us perpetuate the honored tradition of National Bible Week to draw continuing sustenance and guidance from the Word of God. We thank our Creator for the teachings and blessings conveyed through the Holy Bible on the special occasion of National Bible Week. Herald R. Ford FORD & LIBRARY 03
