THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON St. Patrick's Day, 1976 On St. Patrick's Day, Mrs. Ford and I send our warmest greetings to our many fellow Americans of Irish ancestry. As Irish hearts are happy, so too are those of all Americans on this day of friend- ship and goodwill. St. Patrick's Day is among the most cherished and widely-observed holidays in our country. During our Bicentennial year, let it be a reminder of the great tradition of unity through diversity which has kept America strong and free, and let it be commemorative of all Irish Americans who have contributed so much to our strength and freedom. May it be especially joyous and memorable for all who participate in its celebration. Herald R. Ford GERALD R FORD
