THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN
ANN-MARGRET INTRODUCTION, IRAN DINNER
THURSDAY, MAY 15, 1975
- 1 -
YOU IMPERIAL MAJESTIES, HONORED GUESTS:
OUR GUEST STAR THIS EVENING, ANN-MARGRET, WAS BORN
IN STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN.
BUT, IN EVERY RESPECT,
SHE IS AN ALL-AMERICAN GIRL.
- 2 -
SHE SETTLED HERE IN ILLINOIS WITH HER PARENTS AT THE AGE OF FIVE,
AND HER CAREER IS A TYPICAL AMERICAN SUCCESS STORY.
SHE
HAS ACHIEVED STARDOM AS A SINGER,
/
A NIGHT CLUB ENTERTAINER,
AND AS A STAR OF FILM AND TELEVISION.
- 3 -
SHE IS ALSO A REAL PATRIOT -- AS THE THOUSANDS OF
GRATEFUL GI'S SHE ENTERTAINED IN SOUTHEAST ASIA WILL BE THE
FIRST TO TELL YOU.
- 4 -
ANOTHER TYPICALLY AMERICAN TRAIT OF ANN-MARGRET'S IS
THE FACT THAT SHE DOESN'T BELIEVE IN SITTING ON HER LAURELS OR
LETTING THINGS GET HER DOWN.
SHE KEEPS ON SETTING NEW GOALS
FOR HERSELF, AND ACHIEVING THEM.
- 5 -
SHE HAS THE COURAGE AND ENTHUSIASM THAT MARK A GREAT
PERFORMER, AND NOTHING -- NOT EVEN PHYSICAL INJURIES --
HAS EVER STOPPED HER FROM GIVING HER AUDIENCE HER BEST.
I KNOW THAT IS WHAT SHE WILL GIVE US TONIGHT, AND IT IS
MY PLEASURE TO INTRODUCE HER TO YOU.
- 6 -
YOUR IMPERIAL MAJESTIES AND HONORED GUESTS, PLEASE
JOIN ME IN WELCOMING ONE OF THE GREAT NAMES OF AMERICAN
SHOW BUSINESS -- THE BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED ANN-MARGRET.
