THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN
DEBATES
THE PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHERE I
STAND ON THE ISSUES AND WHERE MY OPPONENT STANDS.
WE BOTH HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO CLEARLY STATE
OUR POSITIONS ON THE ISSUES IN DETAIL.
IN MY ACCEPTANCE SPEECH I CHALLENGED MR.
CARTER TO A SERIES OF DEBATES.
I AM ANXIOUS TO BEGIN. I BELIEVE THE FIRST
DEBATE SHOULD BE A DAY OR TWO AFTER LABOR DAY.
THERE SHOULD BE FOUR DEBATES ALTOGETHER.
I BELIEVE EACH DEBATE SHOULD LAST A MINIMUM
OF 90 MINUTES. APPROPRIATE SUBJECTS ARE:
NATIONAL DEFENSE, FOR THE
FIRST ONE, THEN
DOMESTIC POLICY
FOREIGN POLICY, AND
ECONOMIC POLICY
