11:30 a.m. thru 2:00 p. m.

Your White House and OEOB Staff will
gather on the South Grounds for a picnic.
NOTE:
Attached is a copy of the memorandum which was
distributed to the Staff inviting them to the picnic.
You will walk out to the South Grounds and
mingle with your Staff before departing for
Capitol Hill and after returning to the White
House. This will give you an opportunity to
meet with the early and late lunch hour groups.
Mrs. Ford will go out from time to time and mingle
with the Staff.
NOTES:
Military Bands will be playing on the South
Portico.
There will not be press coverage.
A White House photographer will be present.
The menu for the picnic will be hot dogs,
potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, ice
cream bars, coffee and soft drinks.

The President and Mrs. Ford wish to invite White House and OEOB
Staff Members to a picnic on the South Grounds of the White House
on Thursday, September 19, 1974, between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
This should permit office supervisors to rotate lunch hours in order
to keep phones covered, as usual.
The East Wing and West Wing Staff should enter the South Grounds
through their respective foyer entrances. All OEOB pass holders
should enter the South Grounds through the Southwest Gate. This is
a "lunch hour" picnic for the White House and OEOB Staff and does
not include spouses or families.
Should there be inclement weather on Thursday, the picnic will be
rescheduled for Friday at the same time.
The President and Mrs. Ford are looking forward to meeting as many
of you as possible and hope each of you will enjoy the picnic.
