THE WHITE HOUSE ANNOUNCED HOWEVER THAT FORD DOES NOT PLAN TO DO THE SAME FOR THE FRIDAY AFTER NEW YEARS DAY. FORD HAD WITHHELD HIS DECISION ON GRANTING THE FRIDAY HOLIDAY -- TRADITIONAL WHEN CHRISTMAS FALLS ON THURSDAY AS IT WILL THIS YEAR -- BECAUSE OF ADDED COSTS.
