Eller Susan Ford, the 17-year-old daughter of the President of the United States, ar- rives in Winchester this morning to begin her reign over the Apple. Blossom Festival. Her father, President Gerald Ford, will arrive in Winchester Friday morning to take part in her coronation as festival queen. He will also ride in the Firemen's Parade Friday night before returning to Washington, D.C. Miss Ford will journey first to the Winchester residence of U.S. Senator and Mrs. Harry F. Byrd Jr. today. Then she will begin a round of pre-festival activities that in- cludes a trip to the SPCA animal shelter in Winchester this morning and a visit to the Joint Civic Club luncheon that is to be held at the Lee-Jackson Restaurant. While at the luncheon, Miss Ford will be presented gifts from various civic groups and will hear Reginald Murphy, editor of the "Atlanta Constitution," speak to those attending. Murphy was kidnapped early last spring and held for ransom by the American "Revolutionary Army." A coronation rehearsal today and numerous private gatherings are also in- cluded on the itinerary for the queen-elect and her party.
