GUEST & STAFF INSTRUCTION: With the exception of Secretary Schlesinger and Secretary Calloway, you will be escorted to the Presidential Box (Navy Side) following the announcement of the President. Secretary Schlesinger and Secretary Callaway will be escorted to the Presidential Box on the Army Side. 1:08 pm The President arrives stairway area. 1:09 pm "Ruffles and Flourishes" Announcement "Hail to the Chief" 1:10 pm The President proceeds outside the tunnel and down the stadium steps to the playing field, where he will meet the game officials and team captains; Midshipmen Cliff Collier and Tim Harden for the Navy and Cadet Robert Johnson for the Army. NOTE: While on the steps, the President will pass through a Midshipmen cordon. LIVE NATIONWIDE TELEVISION 1:12 pm The President, accompanied by the game officials and team captains, proceeds to the sidelines, where they will pause for the playing of the National Anthem. 1:15 pm National Anthem, by U.S. N.A. Band accompanied by Singer, PO1 Gayle Slater. 1:17 pm National Anthem concludes. -4- 1:17 pm The President, game officials and team captains proceed to a field position, where the President will participate in the coin toss. PRESS POOL COVERAGE (LIVE SOUND) 1:18 pm Coin toss complete. 1:18 pm The President bids good luck to the team captains and proceeds up the stadium stairs to the Presidential Box (Navy Side). NOTE: The President will pass through a Midshipmen cordon on the steps en route the Presidential Box. 1:20 pm The President arrives the Presidential Box and is seated. 1:20 pm Kick-off for the 75th Army-Navy Game. 2:30 pm First half concludes. 2:35 pm The President, escorted by VADM. William P. Mack, Superintendant of the Naval Academy, and Midshipman Captain James Adams, Commander of the Midshipmen Brigade, departs the Presidential Box (Navy Side) and proceeds to the center of the field. STAFF INSTRUCTION: You will be escorted to the Presidential Box (Army Side) via field track around the edge of the playing field. NOTE: En route the center of the field, the President will pass through a Midshipmen cordon. Additionally, the President will meet Midshipman Thomas Harper with the Navy Mascot (Bill XIX), as he steps onto the playing field. 2:40 pm The President arrives midfield. The President will be met by: Secretary Schlesinger MGEN. Sidney B. Berry, Superintendant of the U.S. Military Academy Cadet James Abcouwer, First Captain of the Corps of Cadets PRESS POOL COVERAGE (LIVE SOUND) NOTE: Secretary Schlesinger will proceed to the Navy side after mid-field ceremony. -5- 2:42 pm The President will receive an Army-Navy Game commemorative medallion from Midshipman Adams and Cadet Abcouwer. (NOTE: Medallion was used in coin toss). 2:45 pm The President will bid farewell to VADM. Mack and Midshipman Adams and proceed through the Cadet cordon en route the Presidential Box (Army Side), escorted by MGEN. Berry and Cadet Abcouwer. NOTE: As the President proceeds across the field, he will meet Cadets William Troy and Steve Cownes with the Army mule mascot, (Buckshot). 2:47 pm At the edge of the field, after greeting the cadets and Army mascot, the President will participate in a one-minute, on-field interview with Bill Fleming of ABC Sports. LIVE NATIONWIDE TELEVISION 2:48 pm Interview concludes. The President continues en route Presidential Box (Army Side). 2:50 pm The President arrives Presidential Box (Army Side) and is seated. 3:00 pm Second half begins. 4:10 pm Second half concludes. 4:10 pm The President stands for the playing of the Alma Maters. 4:13 pm Alma Maters completed. 4:13 pm The President departs the Presidential Box en route motorcade for boarding.
