Digitized from Box 5 of the White House Press Releases at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library
pool Ford to Cap Hill for Mahon portmait unveiling. 12/10/74
Pres. left from Oval office, arrived at Rayburn Room in Capitol
well after ceremonies started, after portmait unveiled.
Light banter backand forth with Mahon president noting that as a
golfing partner, Mahon has interlocking grip on putter, as Chair
of Hse Approp he has hammerlock hold on unnecessary spending.
Waving goodbye to several small crowds of spectators outside
capitol, Pres Ford drove back to WH, Oval Office. Whole trip, less
than an hour.
