POOL REPORT
ON OUTDOOR DINNER BY THE POOL
Very informal atmosphere with most of the major
participants in sport jackets. The President, for
instance, in a red, black and white plaid sport jacket;
Kissinger in a maroon sports jacket; Simon in maroon
slacks. There were two large folding rafts of island
flowers, Martinique flowers, floating in the pool. The
guests awaited the arrival of the two Presidents while sipping
cocktails from the opposite side of the pool from the dining
area.
There were six tables in the dining area with
about eight chairs each. The tables had hurricane lanterns
and candles inside them. Giscard sat on the President's
right and was between Ford and Kissinger. On the President's
left was Mrs. Giscard and on her left was David Rockefeller.
The French Foreign Minister sat across from the Presidents.
There was a pretty blond woman whose name we don't know.
The pool was too far away to hear any of the
conversation.
There was a band playing 1940s style music with
a vocalist singing "Walking My Baby Back Home." It
looked like it was a great party.
