Ford Presidential Library\nDECEMBER 23, 1974\nPOOL REPORT\nPresident Ford skied for three and a half hours today - 10:30 to\n2:00 p.m. and returned with a group of skiers to be met at the bottom\nof the slope by a crowd of reporters, cameramen and other skiers.\nHe said it was \"10 below\" up on the mountain and \"the snow was excellent.\nIt was just a beautiful day for skiing, an ideal day. I got my legs in shape.\"\nOne youngster asked the President if he would shake hands and Ford\nlaughingly said, \"sure if you want to shake a cold one 11 and they shook\nhands.\nThe President said that he had skied on Flapjack and Simba trails and\nhe was accompanied by friends, whom he identified only as \"from all\nover the country.\" An excited crowd gathered about him as he ended\nhis second day in a row ski run.\nThe President was redfaced and somewhat out of breath from his\nexercises and he appeared to want to cut short the chit chat. He said\n\"I'm going in and have some lunch right now.\" He also said he had\na couple of hours of work head. mentioning a stack of bills passed by\nthe 93rd Congress that are awaiting his signature.\nThe President wore a different outfit for skiing today - a chocolate\nbrown ski jacket and matching pants. But he had on the same red\nplastic ski boots and orange and white striped wool hat.\nDaughter Susan was also out skiing today and romping near the Ford's\nrented home with their golden retriever dog, Liberty.\nMrs. Ford, meanwhile, went out to lunch at one of the nearby restaruants\n(check Press Secretaray Weidenfeld for details of Mrs. Ford's lunch,\nwhich we believe was at Pepi's Gasthof Gramshammer).\nLewine - AP\nDillman - UPI\n#\n#\n#"
