    "ocrText": "January 15, 1975\nOffice of the White House Press Secretary\nNOTICE TO THE PRESS\nThe President today announced his intention to renominate seven persons.\nThey are:\nThomas G. Cody, of Maryland, to be an Assistant Secretary\nof Housing and Urban Development. This is a new position.\nJohn William Kauffman, of New Jersey, to be a member of the\nBoard of Regents, National Library of Medicine, Public\nHealth Service for a term expiring August 3, 1977. He will\nsucceed William O. Baker, whose term expired.\nEddie G. Smith, Jr., of the District of Columbia, to be a\nmember of the Board of Regents, National Library of Medicine\nPublic Health Service for a term expiring August 3, 1976. He\nwill succeed Max Michael, Jr. whose term expired.\nEdward E. David, Jr., of Illinois, to be a member of the\nBoard of Directors of the Communications Satellite Corporation\nuntil the date of the annual meeting of the Corporation in 1976.\nHe will succeed Rudolph A. Peterson whose term expired.\nRobert J. Corber, of Virginia, to be a member of the Interstate\nCommerce Commission for the remainder of the term expiring\nDecember 31, 1976. He will succeed W. Donald Brewer who has\nresigned.\nJoseph Laitin, of Maryland, to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.\nHe will succeed Jerry W. Friedheim who has resigned.\nThomas J. Meskill, of Connecticut, to be United States Circuit\nJudge for the Second Circuit. He will succeed J.
