NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The Labor-Industry Banquet at the Statler Hilton Hotel recognizes the Postal
Service special commemorative stamp "Collective Bargaining" and honors
those who help make collective bargaining so successful in this country. On
the face of the 10¢ stamp are the words "Out of conflict
accord.
"
Over-
lapping circles are depicted which symbolize the cooperative partnership
between labor and management. The stamp was designed by Robert Hallock
of Newton, Connecticut.
The dinner is being sponsored by the Institute of Collective Bargaining and
Group Relations, Inc., (New York City) and will be attended by approximately
200 labor and industry leaders. Simultaneous dinners are being held in
Detroit, Chicago and San Francisco.
There will be an unveiling of the original sculpture by George Segal in honor of
collective bargaining, and the President will offer his remarks.
The following gentlemen will be at the head table:

Mr. Floyd Smith, President, International Association of Machinists
Mr. Robert Hatfield, President, Continental Can Company
