Digitized from Box 8 of the White House Press Releases at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library MARCH 18, 1975 Office of the White House Press Secretary NOTICE TO THE PRESS The President met with his economic and energy advisors in the Cabinet Room from 3:45 p.m. to approximately 5:15 p.m. Attending were the Vice President, and Messrs. Richard Cheney, Richard Dunham, Stephen Gardner, Alan Greenspan, Fred Hickman, James Lynn, Rogers Morton, Bill Seidman and Frank Zarb. Mr. Greenspan opened the meeting by reviewing the current state of the economy, both the short term and long term outlook. He also discussed production levels, inventory liquidations and continued progress in the fight against inflation. There was a lengthy discussion of the provisions contained in the tax bill reported by the Senate Finance Committee. Mr. Seidman then reviewed the domestic and international economic issues scheduled for consideration by the Economic Policy Board during the next six months. He also reported the views and recommendations expressed by a group of prominent outside economists at a recent meeting. ###
